5 Haunted Houses to Purchase!

Happy Halloween! We wanted to bring a little spook to this week with 5 Haunted Houses you can purchase! Some inspired famous scary movies, some built many decades back, and some with ghosts of the original owners!

HAUNTED HOUSES:

1) Rhode Island Home

– Listed for $1.2M

– Inspired the 2013 film The Conjuring
– The family of seven who lived in the home noticed ghostly goings-on such as beds shaking and a broom moving by itself

2) The George Champlin Mason House

– Listed for $4.5M

– Built by noted architect George Champlin Mason for himself back in 1873. After his death in 1894, the architect didn’t want to leave the house and has seemingly resided there ever since.

– Recent owners, who have lived in the home for 15 years, reportedly had a number of ghostly encounters including seeing an apparition of George arriving home and even smelling unexplained cigarette smoke at 2am

3) Earlshall Castle

– Listed for $6.7M

– The fairytale castle is reportedly haunted by Sir William Bruce, or one of his descendants. A phantom figure is frequently seen in the bedroom and heavy footsteps are often heard on the staircase.

– There have also been sightings of a servant girl and another figure who patrols the spiral staircases at night

4) Mineral Wells Home

– Located in Texas right outside of Fort Worth

– Listed for $125K

– Nine spirits in total reside at the residence

– Some people have said that they’ve been scratched and bitten during the stays in this home.

5) The Priestley Home

– Listed for $899K

– Since the doctor and his wife died in the early 1900s during an epidemic of yellow fever, it’s become a decidedly haunting dwelling.

– The most recent owners have reported paranormal activity occurring and insist they saw the ghost of Susan Priestley in the bedroom where she died. – Others in the neighborhood are said to have seen her spooky figure standing at the windows.
